Odds and Ends ![]() Today has been a good day for sitting in the backyard, working on my sunburn, and catching up on my blogging. Regular readers of this site know that my latest interest is in WiFi hotspots. In his recent newsletter, Mike Elgan offers his view on the uselessness of all of the pay-for-service hotspots that are appearing around the Silicone Valley—and beyond. Add the term “ubiquitous” to the terms “wireless access” and we’ve got a plan, man! Reader Ian Weir was kind enough to send in a link to a Wired article on non-volatile RAM, which could very well be the Next Big Thing in the world of computing. Help! I am looking for simple techniques for syncing Outlook on my laptop and desktop. The highest ideal here is to have two identical copies of the program: Inbox, folders, contacts, schedule—everything the same. I’ve looked around, but the best solution that I’ve come up with so far is to copy the entire .pst file from one computer to the other (a time-consuming solution to say the least). Any ideas? |
