Telnet Time-Waster ![]() I have another old school time-waster for you today. For those who are familiar with Telnet, skip to the next section. PART ONE: If you are reading this, I will assume that you are not familiar with Telnet. Telnet is a way of connecting to computers remotely. You can use it to log onto a web server and run commands, modify files, etc. There are many public databases and resources available through Telnet. I won't bother you to use telnet in the traditional way. Let's just do it the easy way. Click this link to log onto the U.S. Library of Congress telnet directory. Now that you've got the idea, check this out. PART TWO: Here is the craziest telnet site that I could ever imagine. I won't even describe it-- it simply has to be seen. PART THREE: Telnet goes back to the very origins of the internet. If you are interested in learning more about the history of the internet, or how it can be used for calling other people an "asshat", check this out. Via J-Walk |
